Our Alumni-Ambassadors
Two Years in the Classroom. A Lifetime in the Network.
Alumni of Teach For Armenia become Alumni-Ambassadors, a growing network of professionals shaped by two years of frontline service in Armenia’s public education system.
Teacher Leaders who complete the two-year Program join a community of ~500 alumni leading change across three pathways: 1) School and Education Leadership; 2) Public Policy and Governance; and 3) Corporate Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship. They bring with them a rare combination of leadership under pressure, systems thinking, and deep local insights.
Alumni-Ambassadors are highly sought after because they leave the program with more than credentials.
Through two years of full-time teaching and community leadership, they develop:
- Proven leadership and decision-making in complex, resource-constrained environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, working daily with students, parents, school leaders, and local authorities
- Data-driven problem-solving and adaptive execution
- Teamwork, coaching, and performance management
- Cultural fluency and the ability to operate across diverse communities
- Resilience, discipline, and accountability developed through sustained public service
Employers across sectors recognize that Teach For Armenia Alumni-Ambassadors have earned their leadership capacity. Many go on to become school principals, nonprofit leaders, policy advisors, founders, and senior professionals in both Armenian and international institutions. A significant number remain within the Armenia Education Initiative ecosystem, continuing to mentor new cohorts and shape national education reform.
Alumni-Ambassadors carry forward a lifelong responsibility: to use their skills, influence, and positions of authority to strengthen Armenia’s education system and contribute to the country’s long-term development.
Cooperation does not end after two years. It compounds.
